Redefining what balance means

Balance is an even proportion of things that aid in maintaining overall stability. With that being said, let's take the time to discover what balance means to YOU.

  • Is balance finding moments throughout your week to put your mind at ease?

  • Is balance finding time to complete your daily task but also making it a priority before the day is over to enjoy doing something that you love?

  • Is balance being able to create healthy boundaries between you and miscellaneous distractions, social media, and people?

All of these can be efficient ways to achieve total balance in your life.

Being able to have a sound understanding of who you are and what is important to you helps in being able to preserve your peace but also attract other like minded individuals towards you.

Now balance doesn't necessarily mean you must completely eliminate things or people from your life routine, unless those are things you absolutely feel you must do. Instead, having balance allows us to not only have a clear outlook on our life's journey. But also helps us to maintain realignment with our thoughts, our purpose, our values, and the goals we wish to achieve.

It teaches us the importance of taking things and people in increments, and gives us the opportunity to recognize any distractions that may be leading factors preventing us from finding our full potential. Distractions are normal to have, yes, but we want to be sure that these distractions aren’t detrimental to our advancements in life.

It's easy for us to become lost in social media and/or media in general.

We have so many perspectives and information being thrown at us from various platforms that we can easily lose sight of what is real, what is meaningful, and what isn't necessary. Perhaps to help find balance with social media, let's try to minimize our viewing time on social media platforms by setting specific times in the day or even the week to only that. Setting boundaries is a key way to hold yourself accountable with keeping a steady routine.

Throughout our life's journey we encounter so many different personalities that we may not have a clear understanding of who is genuine and who isn't. Unless of course we have a bad experience that sheds light on those specific individuals. Figure out who belongs in your inner circle.

Having balance allows us to not only have a clear outlook on our life's journey. But also helps us to maintain realignment with our thoughts, our purpose, our values, and the goals we wish to achieve.

Imagine your life as a puzzle with people as the puzzle pieces. People who you deeply trust, love and support, and in return are able to feel the same exact way towards you, will all fit.

Those who don't fit, well, that's just it, they won't fit!

Being able to have a sound understanding of who you are and what is important to you helps in being able to preserve your peace but also attract other like minded individuals towards you. Those who do not have similar values as you will reveal themselves and it will become easier for you to spot and separate yourself from them.

Overall, we all have to maintain balance at some point so taking time to keep YOU together is a sign of self reflection, self preservation, and self awareness. Having time for you is not a selfish act but more of acknowledgement that you love and care about your overall mental wellness.
